These road workers in eastern China were given a task of road widening in the city of Taizhou, in the province of Jiangsu. While digging, for the road widening, they found something that is almost impossible to find, while digging one shovel hit something solid and after a closer look, they realized they hit a tomb buried a long time ago. Not wanting to move it or disturb it, they call some professional archeologists to help them to see what's inside the coffin and the story behind it. When the archeologists arrived, they started to investigate it and found out that the coffin was over 700 years old. Luckily, they documented the entire event and let the whole world see it. They even documented step by step removal of the tomb and the separation of what's inside in it that you can see the pictures below.
This is what the tomb looks like after they dig it and put it on the ground, they worked very carefully to open the box so they won't disturb what's inside on it.
They all prepared to see what's inside the buried 700 years old tomb for the first time.
Inside the tomb was a wooden box.
After opening the wooden box, they found layers of rare silks and linens with some brown liquid.
After, removing the layer, they discovered the mummy of a woman lying on the coffin covered with all these layers of fabric.
They were all shocked and amazed after seeing the body was well preserved and in near perfect condition after being buried for over 700 years.
They think that the mummy was in royal rank, and was a high ranking member of the Ming Dynasty.
A beautiful jewelry that was attached to his finger was with her all along that can prove that she is included in the royal clan when she was alive.
The team slowly and carefully separate the woman out of her tomb for the first time after being mummified.
The mummy was wrapped in many layers of rare fabric which is common for a high ranking member of the Ming Dynasty.
She was so well preserved by the one who mummified her that you can still see that her eyebrows were still attached.

This is an epic find for our archeologists today and she will be stay preserved in a museum.
This is one amazing find for just a normal day, who would think they will stumble upon this while they're working. After excavating the site, the archeologists also found another 2 coffins that they are currently researching now. I'm pretty sure they will come up with amazing stuff again and it will help us to know more about our history.
