Ellie Jones was one who born with a rare condition that makes her teeth unusual because her jawbones stop growing when she was 8-years-old. This is this cause why her teeth prevented to line up that makes her difficult to eat. This Dental Deformity also called Malocclusion.
A malocclusion is a misalignment or incorrect relation between the teeth of the two dental arches when they approach each other as the jaws close. The term was coined by Edward Angle, the "father of modern orthodontics",[1] as a derivative of occlusion. This refers to the manner in which opposing teeth meet (mal- + occlusion = "incorrect occlusion").
However, this stops until she 14-years-old when she realized she had it. Her orthodontist, Joy Hickman, announced it to her when she wants to have her braces fitted.
The next six years, Joy worked with a maxillofacial surgeon, Emma Wooley, to fix Ellie's jaws to catch up with the rest of her face and make it more functional.
Ellie had her first operation when she was 16. Her jaws had to be cut horizontally and vertically, in an attempt to align her mandible with the taxable.
After that, she was put on a liquid diet for about a month. The worse part is, the surgery left her so sore that she was unable to talk, so she had to use notes to communicate.
Talking became easier as the time goes by, but she still had a lisp for a long time because of her swollen mouth.
Another couple of months, Ellie's doctors finally allowed her to start eating soft foods. She was on a soft diet for about four months while her jaw was still too damaged to be used to eat. ‘I did lose quite a lot of weight,’Ellie told in the Daily Post.
Six months after her surgery, Ellie went to her prom with full of herself ‘It was my year 11 prom and it looked good,’ she told to the Daily Post.
Twelve months later after the surgery, she had to go to another procedure in order to change the shape of her chin. Though this surgery isn't that much necessary, she asked to have it done to improve her looks and boost her confidence more.
‘Now I just feel normal,’ Ellie told the Daily Post. ‘It’s worth the year of pain and my mum said what’s a year compared to the rest of your life.’
She also stated to the tabloid newspaper that ‘her new-found confidence was most noticeable in her dance lessons.’I was shy but now I feel really confident. It’s changed my whole life,’ Ellie said.
Not only Ellie notices the change to her personality, her mother also noticed the change in her daughter's confidence. ‘The surgery has not only changed the way Ellie looked, but also the way she portrays herself,’ she told the Daily Post.
Her surgeon, Emma Woolley also said that she's happy because that surgery made a big impact on her patient's life. ‘I’m really glad the treatment has made a difference and has given Ellie her confidence back,’ as told in an online newspaper.
And now that this dental deformity was now in her past, Ellie continued to pursue her dreams to become a photographer.

There are over 100 patients with same medical problems are seen each year, though most are not nearly as severe as Ellie's, told by Daily Post.
And what's even worse, there are a lot of people who had the same problem but they don't even bother to go to the doctor to make their jaw checked out.
‘A lot of people just accept that they have difficulties biting’ said Ellie’s surgeon, Emma Woolley.
The problem of this condition is when left untreated at a young age, it can cause much worse later in life-at least said by Emma Wooley.
